The International Club Another Foray

I have just started reading Phil Hellmuth's FBI book of tells and I went to the Intl to see if I could put any of it into practice.Played in the £25 deep and steep here yesterday with some of my friends.30 runners and I came 2nd for £188.2 visits 2 cashes.I was beaten by that star of Dragon's Den JJ Hazan.I was short stacked throughout the FT and just played a waiting game to climb up the ladder.JJ gives lessons at the table and some of his plays and analysis were quite frankly appalling.Unfortunately my Ipod ran out of batteries so I had to listen to the table talk.Yet again I think £30 provides a nice afternoon which set us up for the Fulham game.The first half was pretty crap but a goal made up for it esp when Bobby Z scores.He also laid on the 2nd for Dio.The highlight was obv the abuse that Greedy bastard Bullard got.Enjoy life in the Championship Jimmy.I will be going to Fulham v Roma on thursday what will you be doing Jimmy?

Result

Just found a $39 token on Mansion that I had forgot about.Played a 6 man sng and took it down for $126.
Yesterday we had some builders in to do some laminate flooring and then my community support officier dropped around wanting me to fill in a survey.He was a likable fellow so I agreed. 5 minutes isn't too long out of the day but 2 and a half hours later I was at the end of my tether.
The survey was conducted on his laptop which took him 15 mins toset up.He spent another 15 minutes working out where I lived on some computerized A to Z map.Do bear in mind he is my LOCAL CSO so patrols the area daily.Then he wanted to know where I go in the local area.I gave him this and he was again unaware of these local places so we again searched his computerized A to Z.
We recently had an intruder in the house and found the old bill to be quite competent so I felt obliged to still be civil to Bob.
Next came the most facile set of questions that I have ever had the misfortune to have to answer re anti social behaviour etc, the computerised A to Z came out again so he could plot Incident points on his survey.
Finally more irrelevant questions such as How did the Council respond to your burgalry.
MY ANSWER They did Fuck all because we never told them.I was unaware you are supposed to tell the council I thought that was the job of the Police

A Trip to Wilkinson's

My Oyster card had run out so into the newsagent to top it up.
Unfortunately man in the shop didn't know how to use the Oyster machine.
On the job training can't be that hard.
Put card on reader. enter amount of credit in the machine and tear off receipt,its not rocket science.
For those who don't know Wilkinson's is a cross between Woolworth's,Poundland and Lidl.My brother told me they had some good value bulbs for the garden.
The queue for paying was full of fat chavs plus prams with the obligatory brown baby.Is it only fat bingo winged white women that they choose to procreate with.

The International Club

Yesterday me and a friend visited the new incarnation of the Gutshot to play in their £25 deep and steep afternoon tournament.
The new place is more roomy and has a decent air-con.
Its dealer dealt now which speeded up the game.
24 runners £3 top up for 1500 extra chips and a 15 minute clock.
Its a great improvement from the old place but I feel £5 juice for a £25 torny is a bit over the top.
The bar has bottles only which was a bit of a pain
After about 3 1/2 hours I finished 3rd for £92 which was a nice result.
I am looking forward to my next visit.

You make it to heads up in a tournament as chip leader and then McAFee decides to run a full scan without being prompted.This freezes your poker site and makes you sit out.The other player of course raises every hand with a fury amassing a massive chip lead.You can only helplessly watch your chip stack diminsh.Luckily it was only for a few dollars.I was frantically clicking buttons wondering why everything had frozen cursing Sky broadband etc. and then saw the offending MCAfeeflasing light.

Poker league online qualifiers

Played in one tonight 15 in 10 seats and i qualified so G Luton here I come.I am sure if they marketed it better there would have been more in it but I'm not complaining.
I spunked away lots of chips with trip Aces when lucky bollocks hit an unlikey gutshot on the end.
Last in chips A6 v A10 (A on flop) all in against same player and i fluke a 6 on the end.
I then rocked up and waited for the others to knock each other out.Set formula for sats really.

I have lost any confidence that I had in my cash game so rather than skinning fishes over the Easter weekend i am playing silly tournaments,sit and goes and a bit of omaha.Any moves that I have tried to make recently fail and prove rather expensive as the other player inevitably has me beat.
Omaha got me thinking a bit more and proved a pleasant distraction.

I lasted for about 3 hours in a freezeout tonight and finished in profit but it doesn't make up for the lack of cash action.

March Poker results

One word HORRIBLE.
I think the addition of the old Cypto players has made Ipoker much more nitty there seems to be a dearth of Fish even late at night.There are also too many short stackers that fuck up the tables.

I am still waiting for rakeback for one site,so now i have two months worth to get.Am a bit wary of this so i will not be playing there anymore.Silly freerolls only.
My other new site paid up into my neteller account straightaway,thats how I like it.

Poker dress,Poker league and other assorted crap

This is going to sound really strange but if I wear my Obama Anti Christ T shirt I lose at poker.I managed to donk away about $100 this evening whilst wearing it and won $120 once i had taken it off.I also have to wear plain black pants if they have a picture on them I lose.I also prefer to wear black T shirts whilst playing,strangely my Adolf Hitler one is the most successful.

I missed the fireworks at last weeks poker league where one of the clowns hit quads twice against the same player to send him over the edge.
This week I fiddled the tables so I wasn't on the clowns table,I don't feel this is cheating but i like to play more than 5 hands in an 18 minute level.Our table had most of the decent players so was quick and some decent poker played except for one who misread the board thinking he had a straight mistaking a 6 for a 5 losing quite a few chips in the process.Once the tables merged I managed to go out straight away.
Short Stack all in,3 callers I had A5s,and hit my A,went all in as did 2 others.I was up against A 10(Big stack) and A7 and gobby cows crap.The 10D hit as did another.Shorty had 2d 4 and hit a flush.I outchipped the others and went out in 6th.So it looks like I won't be playing at Luton.

On the bus home I managed to bang my gout ridden toe with my other foot whilst opening up my nurofen for the pain.V Ironic.

Another fascinating evening.Drawn on the toughest table and not even a pair dealt in an hour.after last weeks limpathon I decided to play aggressively when i hit so I limped with KQs in late position and hit my King.Checks all around(see the irony),next card put out the flush draw so i bet big and got a loose player calling me,last card a blank so he checks i rr ai he calls and shows AK.Goodnight Vienna luckily an early nite.
I am getting fed up with amateurs having to be told what to do all the time,if they spent more time paying attention rather than fucking about it would make the game far more enjoyable.
this evening after an hour of dealing with idiots I had had enough it just wasn't enjoyable for me,The hollywood dwell ups just aren't needed in our game-when there isn't a full orbit in 18 minutes something is wrong.

Poker League week 6 Betfred etc

Poker league v disappointing this week.The league leader was away so I had a great chance to make up some ground.First level dealt KK raise 6x bb and get called by mega fish whose first game it was of the season.Pretty drawy flop but no magic Ace bet and get called twice.Fishy turns over 10 8 for disguised straight so out in 1st level.I have played him before socially and he is of the any two will do school.Mrs P played as a guest and came third/fourth just out of the money.The organiser of the League turned up and gave us all a lesson in the rules which was good,in future the game will be better for it.He played and was dealt AA first hand reraised against one player and obv. doubled up i'm glad I threw away my 55.He did give me some valuable pointers.

One of my new sites has just given me $257 for Feb rakeback and i am still waiting for another to cough up.

Other news is the Betfred lag.I have complained to them and their response is that Skybroad is something to do with AOL so its not their problem.Yesterday's debacle was I folded KK and AQs which waiting for table to allow me to bet.Needless to say this put me on megatilt and I'm sure my neighbours think I suffer from Tourettes.Due to this I have withdrawn my bankroll from Betfred and will only play in their freerolls etc.

Poker League week 5

Finished 4th this week when I limped J10 and hit 2p 2 diamonds called by JQ and 36s.Guess which hand won.The shame is that it was gobby cow.Still 2nd in the league and it looks like only 1 will get the seat to Luton.
Other goodies KK v AKs which held up and sp KKv QQ and J2s which held.I even folded a straight 1st hand against the obvious flush.
The game was spoilt a one of the big stacks betting big blind I doubled up with trip 10s so can't complain but if you don't wanna play sit out and be blinded away not donating it spoils the dynamics of the game.
Relatives have been over and are now back.had a couple of days of sightseeing and was knackered.

Poker League week 4

Another instalment of our Courage League.It was bliss the gobby cow and the luckbox were on the other table.So we managed to play 3 levels with people who knew what they were doing it was great.When the tables merged gobby cow was still in being as passive as ever and generally slowing everything down.Even after being knocked out she stayed on the table and managed to piss me off gobbing off and generally putting me off.Next week its Ipod time.
People that dont call shorty all ins with any 2 piss me off.Bloke got away with it 3 times.Finally I
called his massive 73 o with A6 when I had flopped the 6 he was on a draw and didn't hit.
The hand that killed me was as follows.
I limped with 66 and the flop was 6JJ,the small stack went all in and I called as did one other,The flop was a 9 so I raised was reraised and went all in.The mongwomble shows J4 for trips.We both had massive stacks and i felt quite confident.Oh silly me the Shorty had QQ and the final card was a 4 to give equal stack a bigger house.
Every time I go all in I am ahead and it gets a bit disconcerting to be outdrawn all the time.
I was decimated.
Next hand I had KK he called with crap so i doubled up.
Three of us left I had about 4 big blinds,other guy had about 8 and the chip leader lots.
Luckily they clashed and CL hit a FH so I was 2nd at least and in the money.
Next hand A 10 v 10 3 all in and I double up.
Final hand QJ v 96 again all in and he hits the 6 so I lose.

Day trip to swansea How romantic.

After a whole 2 hrs sleep Mrs p woke me at 5 o'clock.Of cousre i was a happy bunny.we drove round the M25 to a mates house and then spent half an hour outside a freezing cold station.he had already bought missus flowers for a fiver at Tescos so he was in the good books.Me of course hadn't quite got round to it.Once on the train there were tables available which fucked up our game of poker.The ticket inspector came around and told us that Group Save tickets werent't valid because of the rugby.As we had purchased these on the day from the same company we protested rather a lot but to no avail.We would have to pay an excess at Swansea.we finally got a table at newport so could play for about an hour.We managed to get through the ticket machine at Swansea without paying so that was a result.A couple of beers and a cab later we were in the ground.Another new ground since i had only been to the Vetch years ago.I managed to sleep for most of the 1st half but saw our goal although didn't react to it because it was at the other end and no one was sure it was in.The 2nd half saw Swansea equalise and a draw was a fair result.Got on a bus back all very organised by the South Wales police who behaved impecably.
Straight back to the station ,went to the off licence so was set for the journey back.Played poker on the way back my mate missed the connecting train so we had to wait for him in Maidenhead,in the pub of course.When i finally got back was invited to a party but had a meal organised by Mrs P.So into the car and fell asleep,arrived at restaurant buggered off to get the missus some flowers.TY Somerfeld.Nearly fell asleep in the Restaurant since i had been on the piss all day and had a pretty average meal.
Got home and flaked out.Mrs P complained about the lack of a card so i bought her one today and said that I had hidden it.She managed to find it later.Result
She gave me my Valentines underpants which of course i am wearing and i am now back in her good books.
The moral of this is buy flowers and cards in advance so you can relax for the day.
Now I have to organise our 2nd wedding anniversary since she took me to Bruges last year.

Friday 13th Part 3

Ended the day 5 buy ins down and now know why I always go out on friday nights(gout permitting).
I have had a lot of 2nd best hands today.ie 9 flush beaten by 10 flush,straight beaten by a one card higher straight,trips beaten by a flush etc.
People seem patently unaware about odds which over the long term will benefit me its just so frustrating
But its finished now and hopefully Sunday I will recoup my losses.
So from Friday 13th to Valentines Day I don't know which is worse.

Had a session this morning and Pokertracker decided to only import about half the hands.So I tried to reload them but with no success.I then purged my sessions in the hope that PT could reimport them.No success.I then tried to download an update patch,again no success and PT could not be found.So I did a System Restore.
This fucked up my McAfee program that seems to be in a loop of updating/scanning.
PT is back but still not recognising my earlier sessions
So instead of playing I have been messing around with the technie stuff.
Added to this there is a dodgy Windows update in the offing I can't wait.

My table was tougher than last week but still had some passive calling stations.

FA Cup 4th Round

Back to grass roots football for me and a new ground.
I got the train up to Kettering for the Fulham game.I found a decent pub near the ground (decent bar staff, big tits, quick service)and had a few beers with my mates and headed for the ground.
There was a massive queue to get in since there were only 2 turnstiles.I finally got in and looked forward to an afternoon on the terraces.
I know I'm getting old but terraces are not for me anymore I couldn't see all of the pitch and was surrounded by little chavs
I was near to our little firm sponsored by Clearasil ( I'm sure there voices haven't broken yet)who are a mouthy bunch of shits baiting the home fans.One got thrown out for god knows what and is now a hero to his little chums.
In the first half I saw our goal but couldn't see the first third of the pitch so missed Ketterings equaliser.
Before half time 8 old bill chucked out one of the little shits which was a bit heavy handed.
Things got much worst in the second half.
We got a lucky 2nd goal and I thought that was it but they equalised through a deserved Penalty.
By this stage the old bill were chucking lots of people out
Fulham were playing shit and I saw a replay loomong which would have been good for Kettering so they could make a bit of dosh.
Then AJ scored and I thought fuck it lets just get through
Then wonder of wonders Bobby Zamora scored a cracker and it was all over. 4 -2
Ouf first game post Bullard and we score 4 even if it was against Non league opposition
After the game there was more trouble which the old bill totally overreacted to.

This started last night in my club It was predictable chaos.
The standard was pretty terrible v passive so got to see lots of flops
15 players 12 week league.
Top two get to play in a tornie at Luton.

As well as playing I had to tell some others what to do.
There's no doubt this is a pain.
The number of times I said Your Go Check,Raise or Fold I felt like a dealer which must be a horrible job.
As for the poker I won and got £25 and the points.
I always got my money in ahead and was only outdrawn once which was a novelty.

Thursday Nights on I Poker

I don't now what it is about Thursday evenings but its one of my most profitable sessions.
It may be cabin fever but it seems to bring out some truly awful players.
I managed not to lose any major pots.the worst was $16 when a clown kept calling and hit his ace on the end v my 77

Moral Don't slowplay Trip Aces and realise that morons will call with the 2 most unlikely cards

I also got it all in AA v AA.The rake wins and now I don't have an rakeback deal these things cost me money.I still don't know if their permanent Mercury level compensates for the lack of RB.

After yesterdays appalling performance at 25/50 c I spent the day playing Football Manager 2009
After a rather large glass of wine I decided to hit the 50c/$1 tables ignoring all advice about chasing losses.
About 45 minutes later I was $150 up

Today I am suffering from Tilt

I reread Harrington on cash Vol2 today and defy anyone to relate it to the 25/50 cent tables on ipoker.
I have been outdrawn,outbluffed,outthought and just plain unlucky too much.
I keep missing draws and can't seem to get into the head of my opponents.
I just don't know when to leave a hand alone
I am down 5 buy ins which is crap.

With NOIQ being booted off for rakeback payments I have signed up for Sunpoker.
My initial bonus is $500 payable $1 for 1000 points about 3/4 hour 4tabling 25/50c.
You also get FPPs of $1 for 1000 points payable in chunks of $5 minimum.
They put you on Mercury level (Level 4) for life to compnsate for the lack of RB so I'll see what happens.
